Communities know what they need best. GSD seeks to engage in locally-led approaches that amplify our partners’ existing efforts. We focus on both preparation and response to promote immediate capacity strengthening and longterm disaster resilience.
The heart of GSD’s mission
GSD’s mission is to rapidly respond to disasters in collaboration with communities at risk for disasters and support them to prepare for future disasters. This mission requires us as an organization to seek partnership with key stakeholders at global, regional, national and local levels.
